Welcome to my studio!
Hi! I’m Laura Weber and welcome to my studio. I wish that I could reach through the screen and pour you a glass of champagne and give you a hug, but since that isn’t a possibility, here I am, sending you my love from afar.
My professional photography journey started a couple of years ago. I had bought a used camera and have enjoyed dabbling in this creative outlet ever since. Well, after I watched lots of youtube videos to figure out the science behind using a camera. One of the things that I love most about photography is finally being able to bring my ideas to life. Capturing a moment, a feeling, a relationship, it’s exhilarating and brings me so much joy. Below is a picture from my first ever photoshoot! I was nervous, but now I love looking back at these pictures, I am thankful that I took that leap a couple years ago. Shout out to all my family and friends who let me practice taking pictures of them! I wouldn’t be where I am today without all your love and support.
In all honesty my lifestyle photography obsession started before I even got my first wind up disposable camera. Like lots of kids I enjoyed looking at old photographs. Ok maybe not lots of kids enjoyed doing that but I know I wasn’t the only one. Anyway, while paging through the old family albums, my favorite pictures were the ones where people weren’t posing or even looking at the camera. I was fascinated with the idea of preserving ordinary life or stolen moments that miraculously lived on forever because somebody snapped it up in a photograph. To me that was special, beautiful, fun and precious. What might have been forgotten could now live on for who knows how long. So when I got my first wind up disposable camera you better believe I was snapping up more unposed memories and less standstill, everyone smile at the camera and say cheese memories. So that’s kind of how this whole thing started, looking at old family photo albums and getting strange looks from friends and family as I randomly take their photograph when they weren’t looking at the camera.
“To me, photography is an art of observation. It’s about finding something interesting in an ordinary place… I’ve found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”
Thank you so much for stopping by! I look forward to sharing with you some of my creative work weekly, as well as some behind the scenes peeks of this venture.
Now here’s a little bit more about me.
One of my favorite movies is the live action Cinderella with Lily James
I’m a huge fan of the lovely Lily James
I think that Downton Abbey is one of the greatest shows of all time
